A Dragonlings' Haunted Halloween S E Smith 9781505520316 Books

What a wonderful Halloween Treat! A short story that is not short on entertainment. If you love this series you will love this holiday novella.
Back in the wonderful world the Princesses create not just a playground but a full amusement park for all the young dragonlings, shifter and magical babies (who are quickly growing into mischievous toddlers). The unused basement of the castle has been converted into an entertainment park that would rival Universal, additionally enhanced for the upcoming Halloween festivities the women have planned. Of course that means lots of trouble their hunky alpha mates get into when their curiosity gets the better of them.
It was so enjoyable seeing most of the heroes, heroines and their children all together and I also loved the new "golden characters", that belong to the "goddess". I hope to see more of them in future stories.
This was a fun filled romp that will have you smiling, chuckling and yearning for the next full book in this wonderful series.

A Dragonlings' Haunted Halloween S E Smith 9781505520316 Books Reviews

Oh my gosh, how I love the dragonling's books. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the antics the human's mates get into and how they deal with the creations of their mates. Smith has created such a wonderful Universe in these books and although life is still happening, it's always fun to see what fun they all get into along the way. I can't wait to read about the dragonlings as they get older and the chaos they reign upon their parents.
Oh my, but the women of Valdier are at it again!!
This time they take over the caves under the dungeon of the palace and make not only a play place for the kids but an out of this world spook house!! But tho its for the kids, the real story is what happens when the men find out and decide to see what is going on!! Vox and Ha'ven join the men of Valdier to sneak down and see what the women are up to. None of them know what Halloween is. You will find yourself laughing out loud till tears run down your face at what happens to the men and the way they react to this Halloween house the women create!!
Wish I could give it ten stars with how wonderful it is. Lolol...at one point my husband took my kindle away from me so he could see what in the world was making me laugh so much!! Needless to say we both ended up listening to it and having a great laugh together!!
S.E. Smith has a true gift as a writer and can only say that I have been blessed to find her and all her wondrous stories!!
Give yourself an uplifting night and enjoy this story!!!!!
Just finished S E Smith's latest and it was another winner. A short story which brings all characters from Valdier, Curizan and Sarafin together with their children. I loved the humour, and felt anxious with Creon and Carmen over Phoenix. It is almost like hearing news from very dear friends, which you can really relate to. The children are starting to develop and show personalities. The men and women are growing and having fun doing it. I loved that Mandra and his dragon who couldn't help but want to eat the Grombot, only to have his small son bit his ear for attacking his mother. Mandra pronouncing that he would love Ariel even if she was a Grombot was so funny but very touching. I love that Vox is a candy fiend! In fact I love them all even sweet shy Emma who we are getting to know. Have to admit that Trelon and Cara have always remain my favs though!
This book was well written, flowed until suddenly I was finished. I love these characters from the very furtile imagination of S E Smith and hope she continues for a very long time. My only complaint, I have to learn patience waiting for the next book.
Cara, Abby, Trisha, Carmen and Ariel introduce the fun and excitement of Halloween to the Valdier Dragons, Vox and Ha'ven and their children by building a themed amusement park complete with graveyards, fun houses, rides and scary monsters.

This story is so much fun! And it is a satisfying opportunity to catch up with some of my favorite characters. The women are at their mischievous best. The children's antics are as entertaining as ever. The warriors are still strong, protective and sexy (and lots of romantic encounters). But it's the males over-the-top reactions to the world created by the human mates that steal the show and had me laughing out loud. Even Goddesses Arosa and Arilla and Aikaterina, make appearances and offer up cryptic hints about past and future events. I can't wait to see what's in store for the dragonlings first Christmas!
I've enjoyed how the ladies in these stories share their 'cultural' experiences with their mates and in this short story, it's sharing Halloween. While the theme is cute, I'm left with the feeling that as a whole, the guys don't understand what Halloween is. Vox came the closest with his shape shifting trick-or-treating. The others marveled and did have fun but I'm left wondering. Did they celebrate on October 31st? Is that date possible on their calendar? And of course we know the party was crashed so the celebration was early. . . .

I enjoyed parts of this story - The kids were just too cute. Who knows if they wore costumes or not. But who cares, their mom's did. And their guys. . . . Why ruin the story by rushing off for a romp in the bushes. And it wasn't just one. It's like they can't think without having sex. And didn't they just exhaust their wives so they could run off and explore 'the basement'?

You know, the title of this story is lost in what is presented. This is a story of A Dragonlings' Huanted Halloween. Not the dads. Not the moms. Not the sex. But the kids. Funny. The dragonlings' aren't the main focus. A title more in line would be A Dragonlings' Dad's Night Out.

While I enjoyed the Easter story, This one didn't do it for me. - Dan's Wife

EDIT - Lowered the rating because the other one star and 'critical' review is really a gushing five star and unrealistic. Of course this story has been out awhile so all this doesn't matter. It's the principle of the thing.
